The Secretary...

 

I have just become semi-retired for the second time in the past year after deciding that the demands of a full time office coordinator and a commute were not what I wanted to do at this time in my life.

My interest in ham radio began when I found out that a blind cousin was a ham operator for many years. This was his contact with the outside world after he lost his vision and both legs. I took the class and the exam for my Tech license after seeing information about a class in the CERT calendar. I was trained as a CERT volunteer in 2001.

I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren (I have four). I enjoy watching the oldest in musical theater productions and the second oldest in athletic pursuits (soccer and basketball). The two younger ones are into guitar, knitting, “heely skating” and fighting with each other.

I like to travel and really love Oregon and Washington and the little bit of Canada and Alaska that I have seen. I hope to get back to being more active and doing bike riding, swimming and maybe start to ice skate again.

Although I do not play a musical instrument I enjoy classical music and some spiritual music.
