About the Carrier Editor...
In High School my brother and his friends were in the radio club and at lunch time, I would tag along, and we would try to make contacts on the radio that the Electronics teacher let us use. His call was K6TES (phonetically KILL-6-TEACHERS-EVERY-SUNDAY). I remember making contacts around theworld saying "CQ CQ CQ Hello CQ Hello CQ Hello CQ This is K6TES." In college we would sit in the car on our CB radios, on the hill at Pierce College , and talk across the valley. Hard to believe we would do this for hours. I earned my ticket in February 2001 as a No Code Tech by taking Bill Miller's class and having Julian N1CA as my Elmer. I was most impressed when Bill Miller took out his handheld radio during the class and checked into that evening Net. That convinced me I had to study harder to get my ticket. I enjoy photography, travel, talking on the radio, and spending time with friends. I volunteer with the following groups; one that sends care packages to soldiers around the world, the LAFD, and a food pantry. |
